Inaugural Post
Well, I suppose there ought to be a post explaining who we are and what we’re doing, more or less, so here it is.
At the beginning of high school, a couple new friends and I decided to check out the knitting club, called Knitting Knerds. None of us were really into knitting before we did. I didn’t even know how. But here we are almost 6 years later, and we’re still hooked on it. So we thought maybe we would start a blog to share our knitting exploits with the world, just in case anyone happened to be interested in them.
As for me personally? Well, I’m Gwyn. I’m currently about to be a junior in college, and I’m majoring in computer science, with a minor in english and a concentration in environmental science just for fun. I hope to someday be able to design video games. I wouldn’t go so far as to say that knitting is my life; I definitely have a lot of other things that I enjoy doing which occupy a lot of my free time, and I don’t know all the current knitting lingo or get together to knit with other people very often. But it certainly helps me not to kill people, and I probably couldn’t actually quit knitting if I tried.
I don’t have any pictures to post at the moment, unfortunately. Most of my projects tend to be gifts, and not having really had a reason before, I never really took any pictures of my knitting. But I should be able to fix that soon. My little sis’s birthday is coming up, and I’d like to knit her one of the three tams off of knitty. I actually started it once before, but it ended up being too small, so I had to frog and start over. Hopefully with a few adjustments it’ll come out right this time.
Well, I guess that just about covers it for me. You should be hearing soon from my two co-authors, who also happen to be two of my best friends and favorite knitting buddies. Hopefully this will both be fun for us and keep you (our currently non-existent readership) entertained.
